D.I.Y. project!
What you’ll need: The piece of clothing you wanna decorate (this dress was $18 from H&M, I actually bought 2 so I could keep one plain black), bleach pen ($5 from any grocery or drug store), trash bag, plastic gloves, and tub or sink
firstly, I pinned the trash bag inside the dress so there would be a layer of plastic between the front and back fabrics.
next, I shook up the bleach pen and
WENT TO TOWNcarefully executed my very planned out design.I had plastic gloves but I decided I was a god and that I could be careful enough to not need them. That was a mistake. The bleach comes in this little squeezy pen and feels all crafty but this is real bleach people. I was having so much fun and concentrating so hard that when i dipped my elbow in a polka dot I just wiped it off and kept going…. until it started to burn. so do as i say and not as I do. Wear gloves.
Lastly I carefully transported it to my tub and ran the shower over it until there didn’t appear to be any more gel/bleach sitting on top of the farbric and then I shoved it in the washing machine. i did this twice, once on the back and then on the front. Obviously, the second time it was damp but there wasn’t any extra bleeding the second time so this works on dry and wet fabric!
The effect on black resulted in kind of a burnt orange color which I dig even though I was hoping for white.
I’ve seen other super cool uses of the magical bleach pen so look it up and get inspired!
looooove
